You may haven’t heard of it before, but Clean and Clear has this Porepenetrating technology that, as the name suggests, penetrates the skin to deliver the acne medicine and progressively fights acne long after washing. Although I’m no expert when it comes to these scientific terms or anything like this, I think this form of technology bolsters the effectiveness of the cleanser.
It gets right into the core and does its job to battle acne breakouts and leaves a promising long-term effect on the skin. Along with this technology is the daily formula that allows you to use it for daily application. But I prefer using it three times a week. As it is formulated with an acne medicine, using too much may cause excessive dryness.
It contains Benzoyl Peroxide.
If you’ve been battling with acne for years, you probably have known about Benzoyl Peroxide. It always rings a bell when I get my hands on several products for acne breakouts and I know this is a key ingredient that effectively diminishes acne. But since this Clean and Clear cleanser has 10% Benzoyl Peroxide (which is a reasonable high content), it does the trick on my acne.
But here’s what you should take note of: this ingredient can cause bleaching on fabrics and clothes. Like what I do, better use a white towel to dry your face and wear a white shirt when cleansing. I’ve found some of my dark-colored pillows and sheets bleached when I was using it to treat my acne. So, if you don’t want to ruin your clothes or fabrics, be careful.

Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser if formulated with acne medicine. Mind you, it does dry and peel the skin, but of course, to a reasonable degree. It dries the acne, causes peeling and in turn, gives the skin a smoother, healthier, and better condition. That is why I use it with a medicated moisturizer because it can dry out the skin a bit.
If you have sensitive skin or it is your first time to use a cleanser with acne treatment, you can start with one application daily and increase to two or three according to what you need or what your dermatologist prescribes. I started off with one application every day but it has caused excessive dryness on my skin and so, I reduced it to thrice a week. It works great!
Clean and Clear has given a note about this, though. I guess it really does vary according to the skin type and acne condition. A little goes a long way. But severe cases might require more application or depend on the recommendation of your dermatologist.

While this Clean and Clear cleanser unclogs the pores and helps the skin breathe, it reduces the sizes of the pores and pimples and clears them out eventually. I guess that’s prolly the reason of the brand’s namesake. It cleans and clears the skin!
On the third day of using it, I have already noticed evident differences. The pores have reduced in size and the pimples as well. Some of my pimples have popped and dried out. Yes, it looks sort of gross at first but as it dries out, my skin gets better and clearer.

Yes, you can give it a shot. Besides, that’s what we often do to determine what works out on our acne and if the one we’re using is not effective at all.
